People who have Myopia tend to complain of headaches and tired, strained eyes. Children will normally complain about not being able to see the board clearly in school.
Myopia can be easily diagnosed with standard eye examinations like Visual Acuity Testing and Refraction. Sometimes for children, there is a need for Cycloplegic Refraction, which is Refraction done in combination with cycloplegic eyedrops that temporarily paralyses the ciliary muscles that control the eye’s accommodation (focusing). This procedure is done because kids have very strong accommodation, and that makes measurements of the refractive error highly inaccurate.
